Folklore Ensemble "Ludo Mlado"
“Ludo Mlado” – Boston-based folkloric dance group, which has performed Bulgarian traditional dances since 1998. Petur Petrov – Bulgarian native, who shears his experience and love for dance in Boston area since 1995, directs the group. Petur teaches regular dance classes every Monday night at Green Street Dance Studios in Cambridge. Their new show is “The Return to the Innocence” - directed and choreographed by Petur Petrov.

Harvard Bulgarian Dance Club
The Harvard Bulgarian Club will perform an original piece inspired by traditional folk dance rituals from the Shopsko region (South-Western Bulgaria). The music and costumes resemble the ones used in the region during the 19th century. The 12 performers created together this vibrant piece where the magic of Bulgarian folk dances is revived in the peculiar rhythm of eleven eights.
The Harvard Bulgarian Club, founded in 1997, serves as a uniting entity of the Bulgarian students on campus, and as an informational kernel of the Bulgarian student society throughout the U.S. The group seeks to promote greater awareness and understanding of the political, social, and cultural issues regarding Bulgaria in the Harvard community. We have been actively engaged in the society by organizing cultural gatherings to celebrate Bulgarian holidays, inviting speakers on campus,
and collaborating with other cultural and ethnic groups.

Education : Music High School (Burgas, Bulgaria); Major: Classical Piano State Music Academy (Sofia, Bulgaria); Major: Sound Engineering Quincy College (Quincy ,MA) Major: Liberal Arts Berklee College of Music (Boston,MA ); Major: Music Production and Engineering Mrs. Dontcheva's professional background includes: Experience in the field of Classical, Chamber and Jazz Music; Sound and Recording Engineering since 1996 in various recording studios and radio stations, as well as the “ Off the Canal Theatre ” in Sofia, Bulgaria.
Since 1999 Mrs. Dontcheva has worked in the New England area as a recording engineer and a private piano instructor. She has recorded, mixed, edited and produced a variety of projects for Berklee College of Music, The Studio, Joel Gordon Recordings, Sonic Temple Studio, and Studio 234. She has also served as a free lance sound engineer for churches, Harvard, MIT, Boston University, Longy School of Music, Symphony Hall, Jordan Hall, Sanders Theathre, local music clubs and many more locations in the Boston area. |
