Their education is carried out on three different levels: The first level includes blind and visually impaired students with normal intellect. They follow the regular school curriculum and regular school subjects. The graduates can continue their education in institutes for higher education; The second level includes blind and visually impaired students with additional impairments including mild intellectual deficiency. These students are trained under adapted reduced curriculum and after completing their 9 years training they can acquire professional training; The third level includes blind and visually impaired children with additional disabilities inlcuding moderate intellectual deficiency. These students are trained under individual functional programs. These students do not acquire a certificate for completing a grade or level but a certificate for acquired skills foreseen in their individual programs. There are three special programs for all students: Orientation and Mobility training; Useful/Daily Living Skills training and Low Vision training. The school also offers Early Intervention and Integrated Education services. All students are offered additional activities according to their interests and talents eg. classical instruments (piano, violin); folk singing; folk instruments; folk dancing; art therapy etc. |
